As an Independent Sussex Brewer we are very grateful for the support shown to us by our community of craft beer lovers. We have really enjoyed meeting and speaking to many of you as we have delivered beer to your doorsteps. Please keep sharing ideas with us, they are gratefully received.
Be assured we will continue to brew quality craft ale and lager with some special limited editions along the way, alongside events at the Brewery when restrictions allow.
Working within the community, and often in collaboration with other local food and drink producers will continue to be one of the areas we focus on.
WE ARE CITY ANGELS
We’re proud to be one of the City Angels supporting City and Community Fundraising and environmental initiatives in Brighton and Hove celebrating the amazing diversity of our local community. This promotes a cleaner, greener and safer city with our beer featured across the city – none more prominent than the PRIDE inspired East Coast Pale Ale, ’WILDE’; named after the legend that is Oscar Wilde. Keep an eye out for our eye-catching pump clip/lens design during Pride that reflects the PRIDE rainbow flag colours, you certainly won’t miss it on the bar and in can! This beer is available in can.
BBC SUSSEX RADIO DRIVETIME – WEEKLY TV GUIDE
Listen out for Danny, our Sales Director and very own face for radio (!) making regular appearances on BBC Radio Sussex , discussing the brewery and all things local.
PROJECT BIODIVERSITY
We love our ocean and we’re keen to work with the community to act against the destruction of our seas and so this was a great opportunity for us. We were given the chance to support Project Biodiversity to help save Sea Turtles. By collaborating with The Beer Company we brewed aptly named ‘Turtle Recall’, created to bring back memories of sandy beaches thanks to floral and fruity notes. Turtle Recall 3.9% poured across the Nicholsons pub estate as well as individual free trade pubs and we donated £5 from each cask & keg and 10p from each can sold to Project Biodiversity. You can still grab a slab of cans from our Web shop!
PERFECTLY PRESERVED
We used Jaki’s award-winning marmalade to brew our limited edition Clemency Amber Ale 4.2% – beer infused with marmalade produces a terrific, tangy flavour.
Jaki works from Worthing producing small batch, award-winning handmade marmalades, jam, chutney, caramels and fruit curds. Look out for her delicious and surprisingly spicy Bedlam
ST LAWRENCE FAIR – HURSTBARPOINT
Situated just under 5 miles from our brewery this is an event where we truly immerse ourselves in our local community. We are so proud to join in their yearly fair by providing beer for the HurstBarPoint so it’s #BedlamOClock for the whole weekend. A huge event that brings the whole community together.
MS CENTRE, SOUTHWICK
Situated on the South Coast, this worthy local cause works to improve the mental and physical health, well-being and life chances of people in Sussex living with Multiple Sclerosis. We support them in ways we can such as hosting a charity evening and presentation.
BEDFEST
Harking back to where it all began! Bedlam was born from a moment of inspiration from friends at Albourne Estate where the original seed was sewn sown and many a beer drank between friends at the Bedfest Beer Festival
REDROASTER 5%
Our limited edition Smoked Coffee Porter was brewed using local Redroaster Sanctuary Blend Coffee from Redroaster, an organic roastery in Brighton who work directly with farmers to import new harvest speciality green Arabica coffee beans from around the world.
